Costco Vallarta Wine Review - Tattoo Girl Riesling

Honestly, I should have known better. What is the point of having almost as many wine certifications as I have fingers if I don’t use the knowledge? 🙄

I admit, I was seduced by the price, and the possibility that I found a delightful new wine to complement the warmer spring days. Alas, nope. Public service announcement: DO NOT BUY THIS WINE!

KEY INDICATORS THAT THIS WINE WOULD BE BAD THAT I FOOLISHLY IGNORED:

#1 - it’s packaged in a Bordeaux bottle, not a classic flute-style bottle. While not all rieslings that are in Bordeaux bottles are immediately bad, it should have been a red flag 🚩 ….they don’t make riesling in Bordeaux.

#2 - the label is an obvious rip-off of the always-delightful Kung Fu Girl Riesling from Charles Smith Winery, also in Washington State. Sometimes an attempt at imitation is just a bad idea, and is not flattering at all.

Oh, what a fool I’ve been! Don’t make the same mistake as me.
